Hi all,

After a couple years hiatus for silly grown up stuff like gettin hitched, finishing school, finding jobs etc., I am hoping to return my focus to more important things like having fun on bikes! Some of you already know me, but many of you probably do not as the team has grown so much in the last few years. I thought I would take a quick minute to re-introduce myself.

What can I tell you....hmmm? Well I joined VB years ago cause I thought the waterbottles were cool, and I stayed because the girls on the team were amazing, strong, smart, inspirational, quirky women (who I have come to respect a great deal), and frankly it was alot more fun to ride with them than behind a pack of stinky boys. ;)  I currently live in the Redwood City area, just south of San Francisco, with 2 kitties, and my hubby. My hubby has made me thin down the stable so i have one each mountian, road, and cyclocross bike now. The road and cyclocross bikes get some love now and then, but the mountain bike will always be my first love. No major racing lately, just a few random mountain races like Boggs and a 24hour here and there. Racing has sort of been a distant second to just enjoying the bike. I may get bitten by the bug again though, you never know.

Why am I coming back to the team? As I explained above it's about fun, but it's about more than that for me. The small group of women who started this whole thing have given me more than they can ever know. They created not just a team, but a community of unique, smart, inspirational quirky people (Bella Fellas included) that I am proud and thankful to have been a part of.  As part of the team I have recieved invaluable support, freindship, and guidance both on and off the bike from it's members. I have also forged incredible friendships, and added a few whom I consider to be extended family members along the way. I cannot presume to ever give back as much as I have recieved from this team, however what I can do, and hope to do, is give back what I can and get to be a part of this awesome team again if y'all will have me. ;)

Chao,

Jeni Brookes

Welcome back, Jeni.

Hubbie made you get rid of some of your bikes? Hmmm... If my husband tried that, I would be thinning down my stable in other ways. ;-)

Welcome welcome welcome!!! It wasn't the same without you.  So, we'll be looking for you on the DH side this time?  Don't make me dig out the pictures and "The Prophecy".

ps.  Thanks for bringing me into Velo Bella all those years ago.  :)
