Has anyone heard if there is still a possibility? I keep watching this thread, have emailed and messaged Sabine. Is someone else handling the clothing order, or is it totally closed?

i had ordered a skin suit to use for cross racing, as the time frame goes (and we still haven't been charged for the orders) i'm guessing the clothers won't come till next year. i'd like to cancel my skin suit or have someone else buy it. I don't need a $110 skin suit for mtb'ing...

An update: my credit card has been charged. I contacted the nice lady at Primal to make sure this was correct, and was told that individual credit cards were charged when the order went to the factory for production. So we are in progress, and I was told to expect my kit (in my case, a jersey, arm warmers and vest) "sometime in mid to late December".

Thanks Beth. I saw that my card was charged

yesterday and wondered what it meant as far as "when" I might

see the clothing. Mid Dec doesn't sound bad!

Just checked mine.  The good news is that the charge was $70 less than the original estimate for five items.  Can't complain about that.

Yeah. The only bummer is that I won't be able to debut any of this stuff during this year's 'cross season. But I'll have it for short-track next summer...!
Cool.

Nope.  I believe this weekend will be eight weeks since our cards were charged.  The original estimate was 7-8 weeks after the order was submitted to the factory, so hopefully soon.

I would highly doubt an order going out and being in by april could happen seeing how this order went.

But I'll be selling some stuff from this order when it arrives...

I also have some older clothing available here: http://velobellabb.com/forum18/2331.html

Mary Sunshine - hopefully there will be enough people who ordered a few extra things (or will have things that won't end up fitting) and people who have some barely used (or even new) things from last year to sell to get you covered until there is a new order.   I was worried my first year as well (and was in exactly the same situation), but it all worked out.   :)

What sizes are you looking for?

FWIW - I just looked up my order and it says "not shipped yet".    I don't even know why I'm so anxious to get my new kit - it's dumping snow outside right now...  but I can't wait!

Well, I'm a large top and bottom but most of the others are a small.

Maybe one more L or XL top and probably medium bottom.

Hey M. Sunshine -- What Connie said.

I joined VB in 2007. 2009 was my first season of actual racing and I am even bigger up top than you are. Amazingly, a few Bellas saw the pictures of me racing short-track XC in baggy army cutoffs and a plaid shirt and someone decided that I needed "flair". By the start of cyclocross season I had scored used team shorts and a jersey in my size (!!) and on the cheap from a couple of Bellas who didn't need them anymore.
Be patient, something WILL pop up. (Especially if you aren't a 2x in anything, I was just really lucky!) ;)

Happy riding --Beth

If you are interested I am selling:

Medium: Prima Short, $52
Medium: Tiame Short, $84
Medium: Skin suit, $110 (this is men's sizing...which I did not see when I ordered it - so it's wayyy to long for me)

I am happy to ship them to you at no charge. As for sizing on the shorts, I found them to run a tad small...

Thanks, Natasha

I totally agree the shorts do run a bit small.

Tash - what's the difference between the Tiame (which is the short I bought) and the Prima (whatever its called)?

Just wanted to say I bought the thermal knickers and wore them yesterday on a 2.5 hr ride in 44 degree temps - LOVED them! Super comfy, warm....really, really happy with them.

The Prima short is lycra vs the lighter-weight material for the Tiame. Otherwise they look pretty similar...

I'm very upset about the skinsuits sizing.

I specifically ordered the VB WOMENS skinsuit in a Large and I was sent a Mens Large, Natasha, it looks like they did the same to you?

Anyone else? We need to get this fixed cuz $110 is WAY TOO much to waste.

Natasha or Miss Mary --
If for some reason this doesn't get fixed and you find yourself stuck with the men's skinsuit, I might be interested in whichever one will fit me. Seriously.
At 5' 7" with long limbs, no hips, middle aged belly and a 42" chest, a great deal of womens-specific bike gear simply doesn't fit me.
I'd be curious just how "huge" it is.
But try to get it fixed first, especially if you can get a full refund due to Primal's error!

I haven't seen my order yet (Fed Ex is having delivery issues) but hope everything fits.
Yikes.
Good luck --Beth

Yep! The two skinsuits I ordered are men's larges! (and big ones at that). The rest is super cute and fit.

I hope we can get them fixed. I think they have the women's chamois.

I ordered a SS Large Women's skinsuit, and ended up with a SS L Men's skinsuit. Would love a refund and/or rectification on that. Let us know what the plan is. I was going to contact Primal about it.

Got mine today! Jersey fits like a charm, arm warmers rock, the bib knickers are rad.  But, I'm really glad I was feeling fat in the tush when I made the order because the shorts do run pretty small.  They will fit fine in season when I'm in a little better shape but I'm so glad I ordered a size larger than I normally do.  Guess it's just motivation to ride more!

Add me to the list of complainants.

My order was on my desk when I got to work today. My womens' specific jersey fits fine (so glad I got to try on a sample first!). The unisex arm warmers are a little tighter than most I've tried (they run smallish) but I can live with it. I expect the elastic to stretch with use and I suspect that the next size up would've been too long for my arms.

The jersey is very nice and looks great. I am SO glad I ordered the all-back jersey -- it looks classy and sharp.

The vest, however, was a total disappointment.
I was told the vest and jacket would be cut on a womens' specific pattern, and I ordered according to the jersey size I had selected.

My vest, advertised as womens' specific, arrived as a Mens/Unisex 3X -- and fits someone much, MUCH larger than me. There is no one in my life that big to sell the jersey to and there is no other solution that I can effect here at home. Therefore, I want to send it back for either a vest in the womens' specific size I ordered, or for a full refund.

How to proceed? Do we each contact Primal separately? Or should whomever coordinated the order take the lead on this?
Please advise, and thanks much.

I'm curious as to how many other women have found the sizing of the prima shorts to be off by a lot. The more I have looked at how mine fit vs. Primal's size chart vs. my measurements, I'm baffled. I'm 5'4" 133 lbs and the women's XL barely fits me! WTF. I normally wear a medium to large in most shorts because I do have a bubble butt, but seriously, 2X at my size seems ridiculous? Primal's size chart put me between a medium and large in most of the measurements but one (you guessed it my hips) in which I was a solid large. I'd much rather take stuff in than cram myself into something so I went up to the XL and I'm still squeezing in!

I'm wondering if the shorts were really small across the board or if we're dealing with production variability (ie one pair of large primas fits differently than another size large prima??).

Any input would be nice because right now I'm a little irked that I went up a whole size and they're still not quite right. They fit everywhere (hips, waist, rise, leg length) but the legs on my pair seem oddly slim in relation to the rest of the short.

My two cents is that we wait for Sabine to get back from vacation as she worked w/ Primal on order. Then she can go to them w/ one list of all of the issues.

1. Skinsuit - appears to be the men's vs women's cut (MM is gathering up information on this already)
2. Vest/Jackets - appears to be unisex vs women's cut

As for the fit on the shorts - I agree, they seem to run quite small...

I agree, the shorts make my legs look like sausages and not in a good way. Actually my whole order is too small and I bought a lot of stuff. It's my own fault for not ordering a large. I went by my weight on Primal's chart instead of my measurements. Is this the only order this year or can I order a large on the next order?

(...stuck with a vest I can't use, and I doubt there's much of a market for a VB vest in a Mens' 3x...)    :frustrated:

UPDATE: I contacted Primal today (12/31). They have no idea why anyone there would tell me the vest was womens cut (apparently they're not supposed to be!), but they offered to let me return it for a refund.

Meanwhile, if anyone got a MENS Large vest they can't use let me know. I'd still like to obtain one.

I just received my kit and the design is awesome, but the fit is not good.  The medium shorts are a bit snug and the front band is definitely low rise, this should be fine by mid season when I lose the winter fluff I've gained.

The small jerseys are short on me (probably because I have a small rib cage/waist/back and a D cup chest) and paired with the low rise shorts there's an inch of my stomach that's visible.  The long sleeve sizing just baffles me.  Does Primal think nothing will be worn underneath the long sleeve jersey??  It's tighter and shorter than the short sleeve jersey!!

Keep me in the loop if there are options to exchange any of the clothing.  I'd hate to have a kit that I can't wear....

A little negative feedback here....

I love the feel of the thermal knickers but after only one ride the
outside of the pad shows signs of wear from saddle rub. You know how the fabric gets all roughed up? Well that's what these look like after one ride.

I've worn shorts for a couple of years that have never done this.

Disappointing.

Is there still going to be an order this spring? I thought I would wait until the spring order this year so I could order based on the sizing feedback from the first order. If not does buying a 2010 kit off the boards count for our team requirement. I will race in the kit?

Thanks,

Jen
