Hi -

I am a new Velo Bella trying to start a new LA/OC chapter and am trying to get some girls together to ride.  I have posted these rides on numerous forums and have received a few responses but I wanted to make sure that you gals knew about these rides as well.

Wednesday nights - Bonelli Park at 5:30 pm in San Dimas - meet at the Park and Ride on Via Verde (approx 25mi)

Saturday mornings - Bonelli Park at 8:00 am in San Dimas - meet at the Park and Ride on Via Verde (30-50 mi)

Bonelli is a great training road ride.  There is a little bit of everything.  I'd like to keep these open to all levels and have a no drop policy with one or maybe two stops for others to catch up.  I'd like to make this a ride where women can gain confidence in a group riding situation - me included.  From personal experience, I am going to guess the average pace is going to be around 15-17 mph over varied terrain.

Once we get some girls together, we can change up the rides and offer others such as GMR and the Santa Ana River Trail.

There are also numerous mtb trails at the park as well.

There are several triathlons at Bonelli and they usually allow people to practice open water swimming (lake) when their swim beach opens up in mid June.  We could put together some tri training stuff too.

If you have any questions email me at

Oh - any advice you have for starting up group rides would be helpful.

Hope to hear from some of you -

I've raced at Bonelli many a times in my past. Fun place!

Love Santa Ana river trail!

You should let a few local bike shops know about your rides. They might get inquiries from others who are looking. You could also post it to mtb forums like (They have a socal section) and
