Hello!

I'm looking for a team/group to join that can help me improve my cycling skills.  I have been riding road and mountain bikes for the past 5 years and have recently been trying to elevate my skill level.  Last year, I competed in three triathlons and I raced my first mtb race at sea otter last week coming in 22 out of 31 in cat 3 age group 30-39. I have also ridden in several "fun" rides with the most recent one being the Stagecoach Century last month. The one thing that I really lack is people to ride with especially other women.  I love riding with my husband but we rarely ride together much as he is always training for his races.

I would like to possibly join velo bella but notice that the socal group is based out of San Diego.  Are any of you gals north of San Diego?  I am from Diamond Bar which is in Los Angeles county but on the border of Orange County.  I ride mostly at Bonelli Park (road and mtb) in San Dimas as well as mtb in Chino Hills State Park and road biking the santa ana river trail from corona to the beach.  I will also most likely participate in at least one of the TRI EVENTS triathlons at Bonelli and perhaps the Trek Women's duathlon and even maybe a few 5k races if my hips hold up (I have a hip condition - another story...).  Oh, btw, I am very much a beginner in mtb and better in road cycling but have never really ridden in a group (a goal of mine) and I suck at running but I love it all and I want to join a group/team to improve.

So, if I join the team, am I going to have some gals to ride with?  Any of you gals want to start something up on a regular basis in the LA/OC area?  I like the vibe of velo bella and think that it could be very cool.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Leslie

Hey Leslie.

Most of us do live south of Camp Pendleton, but there are a few in Orange County. If you email me off line, I'd be happy to hook you up with them-

If you're up for a drive, several of us mountain bike every Friday. We're going to Temecula next week (May 1st). You're more than welcome to join us.

Hope to hear from you (and maybe even meet you) soon!

Hi Leslie,

I live in South Orange County. I ride only road, but would love to try and hook up with you sometime. I have a group of guys and gals that I occassionaly ride with but getting us all to line up with our schedules is tough. We ride the river trail that starts at Huntington Beach and goes into Anaheim and the Newport Back Bay. You can email me at hgabel73@yahoo.com if you would like to talk more.

Take Care,

Holly
