Below is a link to some small road races in PA. These are great for getting started, but don't meet the minimum distance to count for upgrade points.

WINTER SOLSTICE RACE SERIES
There is a local winter training series in late
Feb/early March in Sterling VA. It's a 1.2 mile loop
in an industrial park and is a perfect training race.
It's a non-technical crit course that has small fields - ~12 or so in the women's race. It's a great chance
to see what racing is all about.
Is anyone interested in 1) trying this local low-key
winter series
2) volunteering time to help with registration or road
marshalling.
Website for the winter series:

We are co-sponsoring this Winter Solstice training series (http://www.emiracn.com).
Look for the Mid-Atlantic Bellas and friends either racing, hanging out on a corner with an orange flag, serving hot cocoa, taking your money at registration, helping the juniors find their way to the start line, and representing Velo Bella. Should be a fun time despite the cold.

I'll volunteer for the first couple and may try to race the last one or two. Anyone else? 'Cause I need to (s)mooch a ride!
