Hey Bellas!
Duane Leach of the Columbia Cycling Club has been kind enough to
reserve a pavilion for us at Chickasaw for an informal potluck
gathering SATURDAY APRIL 12!
This won't be a big affair, but will be a way for us to get together
see faces and names and possibly take care of any other business.
Here's a schedule:
Tennessee Bella Informal Gathering :: Sat. April 12
9am-12noon :: Activities on your own (run, road, mtb)
12 noon :: Meet at the pavilion to share lunch goodies with one
another potluck style
1:30 'til 3pm :: Activities on your own, beginners encouraged!!
Chickasaw offers a lot in a small space. I will check on trail
conditions in advance. I might be leaving after lunch to head to
Memphis for a family event, but I encourage everyone to play and have fun!
In order to ride, you will need to be a Bella member with a signed
waiver on file. Signing a waiver means you commit to one race or other
event each year and buy a jersey.

Jennifer:
I might be up for a road ride. The route from Chickasaw Trace Park to Fly general store is about 23 miles, but has three good, good hills. Last time I rode it, it took between 1:30 and 1:40. Would that route work for you?
Yeah, temps are dropping that day. Boo! Oh well. We'll survive.
There might be a date later on that looks good for another gathering. We could make this a regular thing and pick different locations.
Angela
P.S. I'm bringing either a fruit tray or cookies, and ice, cups, plates, napkins and flatware.

I'm sorry there were so many Bellas who couldn't make the date. Maybe someone can work something out for Percy Warner Park next time.....? I'm not familiar enough with the park enough to plan something.
Jennifer and I had a great time making the 23 mile ride over the hills to Fly, TN! The wind was very, very interesting. This was my first time out on the road since December, I think, and I had forgotten how the wind could take your breath!
After we returned and shared bananas and great conversation, she left the park and I donned my trail shoes for a 3 mile run. Trail mudholes are still there from the race, but the trail should be in fantastic shape this coming week. The rain over the past few days didn't make things mushy like I thought it would. The Duck River has receded from the River Trail.

Thanx Angela for your work. I'm sorry the date ended up being so full for so many--Spring has sprung! I enjoyed our ride, but that wind! Someday I will feel the wind on my back and not a wall of force in my face or from the side....I'm getting alot of how to ride in the wind practice. whew!
Thanx again and good job re: a trail run.
