I am going to try and do the mtb saturday rides again, whenever I can. All rides will be posted to this thread until the thread is just so long that I can't stand it anymore. So, scroll down for the latest ride post.....

These rides are open to anyone interested. They are generally leisurely paced up the climb and a free for all on the descents.  The emphasis is on fun fun fun so please don't be shy about showing up.

I'll post meeting time and places each week. Rides are usually in the Santa Cruz area, but sometimes we span out, and are usually at a decent hour of 9 0r 10:00....

I'll post this weekend's ride in a bit...stay tuned.

Sabine

If there are any newbies out there or ladies who feel they might not be in shape enough for a group ride??? (I know I tend to feel like this sometimes) let me know and I'll come out and do shorter/slower paced mtb rides that start off with the group rides...

not that these are hardcore rides at all, or that the ladies won't re-group. cuz they totally do!! really they're lots of fun!

It's just nice to have an option of a shorter ride sometimes...

-mm

(plus my technical skills suck and I do have to get off my bike a lot:-)

hehehe

excellent idea and we can always start off and finish together and then have burritos together (which is the part that really matters)

Demo Ride!!

Saturday, November 22
9:30 a.m.
My house, map here

If anyone is coming from the San Jose area and wants to meet at the parking lot, let me know. We should be at the lot by 10:00ish unless we decide to ride up there.

I dont get cell reception at my house, so if you need to call its 831-724-7339

Depending on the weather and attendance, we will either ride up and do one loop, or drive up and do two.

Daphne! The cold wasn't bad at all, Maybe just the first five minutes. I put my jacket on for the descent, and then about 5 minutes later took it off again because I was too warm!

Here's a pic and our route:

I had a good ride down Saw Pit/Mill (?).  I handled a alittle better than the last time - a few more times down that thing and I'll be able to keep up with everyone!!!  Then I crawled out to the parking lot.  Next time I decide to do 50 miles on the road bike, I'll try to time it better.  S

See you all soon,

Rain, rain, rain. The norcal trails are sloppy right now. Riding them damages the trails and your bike. So, we'll return to the sand!

Ft Ord Ride

10:00

Meet at the "parking lot" at Gigling and 8th.

Map Here

This is a rain or shine ride, but storm level wind and rains probably means i am out. I'll confirm in the morning before I leave.

Hi there,
I am thinking I might try to come along tomorrow.  I am wondering how far or long you all ride, and if any one is up for a slower paced rider.  I have not been riding as much as I would like with kids and holidays, and really need a break from my kids.  A ride sounds nice, though I may poop out before ya all.:D
   look forward to meeting everyone

Rachel - come on out! The rides are pretty low-key. No one gets dropped and its at a chit-chatty pace (except for the downhills when the crazies get to play a bit). We normally ride for about 3-ish hours at a gentle pace. Don't worry about being slow because you probably won't be. :)

We'd love for you to come! Ft Ord is best in the rain! Hope to see you tomorrow!

Trails are delicious everywhere this weekend, so its hard to choose. But a sparkly day calls for some views of the ocean, I think.

So lets meet in Santa Cruz this time!

We'll start from Santa Cruz so that we have several come home options. Near Holy Cross church. Map here
