Hi all,
I'm new to the Berkeley/Albany area, and I'm looking for some ride buddies. If anyone is interested in playing tour guide on either slick or knobby tires, I would love some company.

Hey Shannon
Did you move out here from Colorado?
We have a few road bellas in the east bay. Hopefully they will see this and chime in!
I don't ride mtb much in the east bay, but if you ever want to come over to the south bay or santa cruz area, I would be happy to show you some trails. If I am not racing or otherwise out doing something else, I post a Saturay MTB ride to this forum.

Hi! Yeah, I moved a week ago from Fort Collins. I want to drive down south and explore some areas. I ran for Santa Clara before I transferred to CU and have great memories of the trails in Santa Cruz, so I definitely want to check out the trails on a bike and would love a tour guide. Hopefully, I will get down there in the next few weeks.
Are you heading up to Downieville this weekend or do you know of anyone who is? I was hoping that I might see and meet some California bellas up there.

Hi-
I live very near Berkeley/Albany area and do both road and mtb. Let me know if you want to ride sometime! Lately I've been traveling to different places in the Bay Area for mtb. Heading to Tamarancho Saturday morning, which is in Marin. Not super close-by, but worth the trip!

I'm not heading up to Dville - too much smoke I think... but it should be a very good time. The course is awesome. Have a great time!

We were in Dville all of last week - the smoke in Dville/Sierra City was actually quite good (much better than going into Truckee). The usual pattern was clear in the morning - some smoke would come in around 10am (often we were climbing the XC race climb out of Sierra City) - but it never hurt our eyes or lungs. The mountains seemed to stop a lot of it (although the view was often hazy). Driving back down on Sunday by the Yuba river - the smoke was pretty bad. But that sure would be a fun course to race! Maybe next year!
As for riding - I am in Santa Cruz and would love to show you either road rides or MTB trails (and there's Henry Coe over in Gilroy). All sorts of MTBing riding in the Bay Area. I am also happy to chat w/ you by phone and give you scoops on rides (what I can at least!). Just let me know!

Thanks to all of you for your kind offers! I'm excited to meet up with you for some rides. I'm heading out to Vermont on Wednesday, but after that, I will want explore all the great areas you have described. Good luck to all racing this weekend! Hope to talk to and ride with you soon.
