9/29 is the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council's Annual Cruz a thon. The $40
fee goes to a good cause. The Bay Area Ridge Trail is a 500+ multiuse
trail that circumnavigate the Bay along the ridge lines. This vision
started some twenty years ago has been a driving force for multiuse in
the bay area.
The BARTC has played an integral role in getting State Parks to move
on a trail designation in Castle Rock State Parks changed, as well as
has a plan to convert alignments of the ridge trail in San Mateo
County to multi-use in the years to come. It has been instrumental to
open up the Boccardo Trail, Alum Rock and many. many other trails to
bikes and has helped form trail use designations permitting cycling
among most bay area land managers.
