hello michigan bellas,
i am wondering if anyone is interested in setting up a weekly or monthly ride where we can meet up, get to know each other, and ride!
my sister and friend amy are also bellas, and oneita is around too- so that makes a potential group of 4... anyone else around??

Anyone in the Allen Park/Dearborn area out there??? Anyone ride on Hines?? That is my stomping ground. I'd love to meet up with any Bellas during the Monday night ride!

i live downtown near wsu and i usually ride hines weekly.
are you a roadie or a mtb bella?
i have both, but my road bike is old and heavy (and i am not so fast)- so i won't be flying along with the carbon-fiber kids very well.

Hi!
I'm a roadie. BUT...now that I tote Matthew around with me I don't go so fast! tee hee Cart and child weighs about 55 lbs. Depending on wind, I average 12-18 mph. Its like having a big parachute attached to your bike! (You can see this parachute on the Nashbar web site....... I should have gotten something a BIT more aerodynamic!)
I belong to the Cycling Saddlemen and the Downriver Cycling Club. There are various rides that (in the past) I would go to. However, now I pretty much do my own thing since I am on Matthew's schedule. I did sweet talk my mom into watching him on Monday nights so I can do the Saddlemen ride out of Nankin Mills. (This is quite fast though.... 22-27 mph-ish)
I am also going to try to get out to Willow metro park more. It has really safe bike paths so I feel comfortable that someone won't run us over! Do you ever get out there???

maybe we could ride together on hines sometime if i took the full susser mtb with knobbies and rode with you and the burley trailer!
i don't really get down to the path you mentioned... mostly just hines and trails.

Did you know that they close Hines drive every Saturday morning from 9am to 3:30pm???? (A six mile stretch of it from Outer to Nankin Mills) Yep, we get the entire road to ourselves! I am planning on being out there every Saturday! (It is very safe that way while I have Matthew in tow)
I have a friend that I am riding with Sat mornings that has literally just purchased her first bike. We only do the 12 miles at about 12-14mph or so. If you think you'd want to ride with us some Sat give me a buzz on my cell! 248-875-4864. (Or jot me an email!)

It is so wonderful that they close Hines Dr. to traffic on a regular basis. I am so BAD for never taking advantage of that when I lived in Ann Arbor !!! I always meant to, but .... but .... but .... just didn't get around to it. ENJOY !
Totally unrelated ... can I talk any of you into trying cyclocross in the fall? I'm biased, but 'cross is really the most fun I've ever had on a bike. Ever. And it's ok if you don't have mtb experience (trust me, I didn't when I started & still don't!).
Two great series right in our backyards & Jonathan and I will be racing as many of both series as we can
East -- Tailwind
West -- KissCross
