Does anyone have an update on the status of the re-tooling of the Primal Wear shorts? I seem to have thought that they were shipping last month, but I may be making that up in my head.

Any info on this?

Thanks,
Julia

Thanks Whit! I looked at that post before, but thought it was all about the jerseys, so I didn't bother to scroll all the way to the bottom.

Thanks again!!

I believe they shipped them all from Colorado on the 10th. If you live in Colorado (like Julia), it would make sense you would receive them right away.

I'm in Cali, and am hoping for a package on Monday or Tuesday...

FedEx delivered my shorts today and I live in Fresno, CA.  They are much longer, the waist has a higher rise and are larger overall.

Thanks to all who made the exchange happen.

Did anyone get a pair with stitching that is the wrong color? I got two pair and one has blue stitching that is an aqua blue instead of royal blue like the jersey. Seems like a big mistake to me.

I received the shorts but thought I ordered a jersey as well, I'm a little confused because they were two orders but only one payment.

I'll email Nick about the colors. This is crazy.

t-lo- The shorts are re-dos from last fall's order. There was no payment for them (other than the payment last fall).

I'm updating the jersey order here-http://velobellabb.com/forum26/2444.html

Looks like they should be here within the week.

Vicki: Based on previous reports, you are most likely riding too fast for anyone to notice the color of the stiching! :)

I checked my bibs last night and they actually had black stitching, but I don't think it matters that much.  The fit of the short part is much improved over the last version, but they still didn't really get the straps right.  I mutilated them a bit and will try riding in them sometime soon.  The side panels still seem awfully see-through, even now that they aren't sized to fit like a sausage casing.

Received my shorts a few days ago. Mine have BLACK stitching instead of blue. They are quite thin and I think the material stinks. I don't mean to complain but for the next order can we just get normal lycra shorts that are tried and true? I would have never paid $84 for these shorts if I saw them on the rack at a store.

I believe the tiame shorts were supposed to have blue stitching and the prima shorts were supposed to have black stitching. Not sure what the color on the bibs were supposed to be. I wasn't involved in the original order, so I haven't seen the description.

Leslie- I still haven't gotten my replacement shorts, so I can't comment on the quality. Just for future reference, the only thing you really need is a current jersey or tri top. Although I do triathlons, I pretty much never buy the official Velo Bella tri shorts because I know I like Zoot shorts no matter what.

I think we can all agree the clothing has been a mess this year. I can tell you that several people have spent many, many, many hours trying to get things corrected that went wrong on the original order. Please remember that no one in VB profits on these clothing orders. We're all just volunteers doing our best to get stuff to you AT COST. I totally understand that some folks are frustrated, and trust me- I am right there with you. I have a long sleeve jersey with comically large sleeves, and I still don't have the shorts I ordered last October.

I have emailed Nick (the newest of our Primal Wear contacts) with everyone's concerns. I will post whatever response I get here.

I want to say that I actually love the thin material of the Prima shorts. The material is much more high-tech than many team shorts are. Risking being tar-and-feathered, I'll also admit that I actually liked the cut of the first batch. I ordered a replacement pair since they were free, but I didn't have a problem with the original shorts. The new shorts are fine too, but a little high and long for my liking (I'm not complaining, just stating my opinion).

It is important to remember that no one piece of clothing will ever make everyone on the team happy. Hopefully a happy medium can be found. Like Whitney said, this a volunteer organization. The members of Velo Bella have WAY more room for input than most other teams or clubs. Typically, team managers just choose what team kit they want without even asking the team members.

I think we are really lucky to have the opportunity to get involved, which includes answering the team surveys when they come out.

For clothing orders in the future, it is important that we are able to try on samples before ordering (like we did with the LG order a couple of years back). Hopefully that will be possible with whatever companies we utilize in the future. Even if it requires paying a little extra to have the samples sent out, especially for those riders in hard to reach areas, it is very important. As with the Primal order, this way if things aren't right it is no one's fault but the supplier.

Thanks for everyone's hard work to get us cute clothes to wear on the bike, and for remaining calm even when things took longer than preferred.

Emailed primal wear to make sure I was sent the right shorts. I was told they sent me the tiame shorts, which I originally ordered. There is to be NO blue stitching on the tiame shorts. The blue stitching on the original daisy dukes was a mistake and was supposed to be black in the first place. Whatever. They also said the material of the shorts is their high tech material. I still think they seem cheap and very thin especially on the side panels. So now I'm gonna wash them and be done with it. Oh, also they said they can exchange but no refunds.

I wonder if there will be another attempt at compiling a team kit order for Cyclocross season (knickers, LS jerseys, jackets), or if we will simply punt with what we have and begin again in 2011. I managed to score a few things between the original team kit order and a recent buy from another Bella but I am pondering a pair of knickers and maybe a wind vest if it's floating around out there.
Anyone?
