Has anyone had any "issues" with Premier Event Management (PEM)? They are organizing the Hy-Vee Tri in Des Moines. They are also did last year. It was truly one of the best run tris I have ever done.
Well, with the flooding in Des Moines, they had to move the location and change it to a (dry-tri). Good grief, I am totally fine with that. I can't believe they were able to move it at such a late date. However, I can't go since I didn't train to run 15K. 10K is the limit for my knees anyway.
So, I sent an email to PEM and Hy-vee. Saying that I'm bummed about the location and format change, but obviously no one can control the weather. However, a gesture of "goodwill" would have been nice for those who can no longer compete. ie: offer to mail our race packets to us, or a discount on next year's entry, etc.
Long story/short. The yahoo race organizer for PEM sent me back this condescending email. GRRR What the heck?? Maybe he's just stressed out, but you still don't treat your athletes that way. I was truly shocked!
Has anyone else dealt with this? Natural disasters and their effect on multisport events. . .
