"The 2008 Rocky Mountain Dirt Series is a collection of mountain bike camps starting in April and ending in September. Most of the camps are women's camps, with four co-ed camps available. Choose from locales like Calgary, AB, Park City, UT, and Bend, OR to learn skills that will take your riding to new levels. Dirt Series coaches include pro riders like April Lawyer, Marla Streb, Emily Johnston, and Katrina Strand.
Registration for the camps opens today, Feb. 1, 2008 and word on the street is that camps fill up quickly."
These are a great way to improve your technical skills. I went to the Park City one last year and it was really helpful to hear some very skilled women break down everything from basic cornering and braking skills to dropping off boxes and working on manuals and bunnyhops. That and they're on a large enough scale that they're helpful whether you're a beginner or a pro - everyone has stuff to work on, and when you're split into 8 groups - there's a wide enough range to suit everyone.
And sign up early if you want to go! Last year in Park City there were about 50 women in the clinic and another 50 on the waiting list that didn't get in.
