So many people have told us so many wonderful things about Fruita that we're all super excited to go. The camp date is June 5-6, the host shop is Brown Cycles in Grand Junction, and the girls from the Hot Tomato are not only setting us up with super delicious lunches, but are also feeding us all kinds of local information to make this camp the most fun ever. There are still spots left, so if you're at all inclined to join us, we'd love to see you there.
Boulder, CO: June 12-13
The very next weekend we head to Boulder, home of the International Mountain Bike Association, the Women's Wilderness Institute, and the kind of scenery that would make you understand why organizations like that would choose it as their home. This camp also has spaces open (it's usually like that with new locations) so if you know of anyone who would like to participant in an motivating, confidence building, and overall inspiring weekend of mountain bike skills development in Boulder on June 12-13, send them our way!
Volunteering with the Trek Dirt Series
In other news, we've been getting a number of questions about volunteering at camps, so we thought we'd put the offer out there to everyone now.
All of our camps include volunteer assistants, who help all weekend long. As well, all of our afternoon rides include sweeps, who tail guide for two to three hours on either one or two camp afternoons. Both jobs are fun and rewarding, since it's really nice to be part of someone else's learning, and opportunities are available at nearly every camp on the schedule.
If you'd like to check out where we'll be when, visit http://www.dirtseries.com. If you'd like to offer your help at a camp on our list, contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll start sorting things out from there.
There's no limit to the amount of times that the posts on our facebook page have made us smile. It's the best to finish coaching a camp and then read how much people loved being a part of it, so huge thanks to everyone who has posted, and to everyone who has joined up as one of our fans. If you're interested in adding yourself to that group, here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/dirtseries.
That's it for now. We hope you're all enjoying the spring weather, getting lots of time on your bikes, and having fun overall. All the best,
Candace, Jo, and the entire Trek Dirt Series crew.
I will be coaching at the Park City, UT (June 19-20) and Bellingham, WA (August 28-29) Dirt Series clinics this year! I attended a clinic as a student the first year they had a camp in Park City and have been volunteering with them ever since, and finally got my instructor certification this spring. Can't wait!
