Hey Everyone!
I've been living in the San Fran Bay Area for 7+ years now. Got bit by the triathlon bug about 5 years ago. Got injured about 2 years ago. Did my first tri in 2 years in Sept of this year ('07) -- yippee! Decided to broaden my horizons 3 months ago and hit the trails. Bought myself a mountain bike, and can't get enough of it!
Now, the plan is to meld my love for triathlons and mtb in '08 by adding Xterra and mtb cross-country racing to my racing resume. In my search for others of the same ilk, I discovered the Velo Bellas...and that's what landed me here. I mean, how could I resist those sexy V.B. jerseys?
Can't wait to meet some V.B.s on a ride or at a social event real soon! I'll also be checking into any clinics that come up in the near future as my biking skills could definitely use some polishing. If anyone knows of any coming up before the end of March (the first Xterra of the season), please let me know!
Any other East Bay or San Fran riders out there? I'm ready to put some miles on my road bike, or get in as much mountain biking as possible without sloshing around too much in the mud.
Oh, and, I'm a full-time personal trainer who just recently quit her desk job (yay!). I work on Saturdays though, so most of my riding will have to be Sunday/Monday, at least for now.
Ciao for now! And Happy New Year!
Lisa Z.

Hi Lisa!
Nice to meet you virtually - and how exciting you are getting into MTBing and Xterras! I have some friends who do the Xterras and just love'em. There is also a good (and easy to get to from the Bay Area) MTB race series that you might want to check out: http://www.ncnca.org/mtb/
And congratulations on quitting your desk job to become a personal trainer. Woohoo!!! I live in Santa Cruz - so can't make East Bay or SF rides, but I am sure there are other Bella out there who can.

Thanks, Natasha!
Oooo, those races look great...I'll definitely check them out!
I'm totally up for heading south for some rides with the Bellas too, especially Skeggs and I'd love to check out Santa Cruz trails, though I hear they're pretty challenging! I've been mainly riding at China Camp and Annadel, and a little bit at Tamarancho and Oakland.
I'm considering going to the upcoming Bella Camp as well, just have to figure out work scheduling. Hope to meet in person soon!

Hey Lisa. I live in the City and wouldn't mind having a buddy to put some road miles in with. I especially need to improve my climbing skills. Graity is fine, but climbing makes me look pathetic, and someone to kick my but up Twin Peaks once a week would be fantastic. I am almost totally free until I go back to school at Cal on the 22nd, but after that I have rides scheduled in. Hit me up. Plus, since I love the dirt, some nice MTB rides would be lots of fun.
