Tyler and I drove up on Sunday for a nice day of racing in Pacific Grove… this was a wonderful event, very organized, fun technical course, and great prizes.  I hope this event comes back next year!

Anyway I raced in the Womens 1/2/3 event in the afternoon with Natasha Perry.  It was great to see her out playing in the crits again  ;p  Our plan:  Natasha go play at the front, Ryan rest in the pack and stay out of trouble and try to position for a finish.   And you know what, we totally accomplished our goals!   Natasha was covering the front and ripping legs off with Yukie Nakamura of Metromint which kept it super active early on and I was very patient (and for those that know me…. Its tough for me to do as I am chomping at the bit in the field around every turn).   One thing for me however is that little hill kept me tame because I knew I had to conserve on this little hill while the others ripped their legs off if I am going to have any sprint at the end.   I got in a nice position on the 2nd to last corner and just stood up over the hill and did not look back…. I ended up getting 5th in the sprint with Natasha having enough juice after her attacking to drag race in right behind me for 6th place!!!  This was a great race, great tough course, and thanks to everyone out there who was cheering us on!!!

Also I know a bunch of girls had a nasty crash in the last lap and I hope everyone recovers well … I know Charlotte Heart of Vanderkitten went down hard so we are sending healing vibes her way and we hope to see her out there in the peloton soon!  Get Well!

Nice work you two!  Myself and Katie tried to do something similar at Golden State but the execution wasn't quite as smooth as yours.  Practice practice.  Sounds like it was a strong field, too, awesome!  :)

It was awesome to watch you two work the field like that. Glad it worked out so well and you two stayed safe.

Thanks to all the Bellas that yelled from the sidelines for me. It really meant a lot. :)

It was a super fun race - and even better to see our plan work w/  Little Ninja flying up for the sprint.  :D

Great job to Emily for getting out there and racing after some super crazy work weeks!!!!

And seeing all of the Bellas at the race is always the best!  Thanks for cheering!
