I really like this event being in March instead of April. The wildflowers all over the course were beautiful and the weather was so cooperative.

You guys are all so awesome. So much fun. We could have played it safe and just ridden for a stage win, but everyone was willing to go down fighting just in case...because you never know.

And it looks like Sue's amazing winning sprint launched her all the way into 3rd overall! Not bad for a stage race with no hills and mercenary time trialists all over the place!

I was also pleased to see that Janet won the overall. She worked so hard in that race chasing everything down and being in the final sprint.

Ryan put in an awesome TT and kicked butt all weekend!!!  We had a great time in the P1/2 race - super duper good training (the only goal), so could just relax and have fun.

TouchStone had a big crew there along w/ the Sugars and the crit was one big attack fest.  The TT was the TT:shock: - and I loved the road race.  The bad section of the road makes Copperopolis look like fresh pavement!!!

Agree w/ the Sabine - the lovely weather was a huge plus.  And I just kept thinking (and saying to my hubby) how fun it is to race and hang out w/ the Bellas?!?!  That is really what makes it awesome.  Watching and cheering for everyone - most fabulous  for sure.

I actually shocked myself with my TT time... I did not use a computer or hr monitor and just went by feel and told myself I had nothing to lose... just test myself and see how darn fast I can go and stay the same effort over the entire thing (keeping the gear at a very uncomfortable/painful level) with a kick in the end for a strong finish over the line... and I did exactly that.   I have always been super terrible at the TT but maybe I can start figuring that out (or maybe I just did...).  Michael said I looked trashed after the TT so I must have done something right.

The crit was super active and really fun.... and of course I could not help myself and had to try and chase everything down in the beginning and did not position myself well for the sprint (was way out in the wind) so... not my smartest crit but I still had fun.

The road race was long.  I never ride more then like 1.5 hrs on my bike (living on lunch time rides right now) so I just seem to die at 3 hrs no matter how much I eat... I just feel completely drained at any speed on the bike for some reason.  But I stayed out of the wind and got pulled around at a high speed through the entire thing and finished with the group so Im stoked.

It was a great race with some super fast girls and great training for future races... its still early ;)

Back felt much better after I did a stretch that seems to crack everything in my spine.  I still feel like I need sleep -- one more night and I should be back to "normal."  Sure was nice to race in cool weather.   This was my first race with the Bellas and it sure was fun!  I like this "crazy" stuff -- As the year progresses, I hope to get better and better at it.

it was another awesome bella weekend.  One of the things I love most about this team is that we are all buddies and have so much fun hanging out.   That is the icing on the cake to me.

In the 35+ category:
Soni, Marsha, Sabine, Laura, Erika & Linda=Bella success!   All your slaying and attacking set up the break that Erika and I got into.  Then, to see Soni bust her little pink butt to get to the break to help out was awesome.

All that was left was to be in the right place and make the right move to finish off all you guy's hard work.  And, Erika and I were there to put the finishing touches on a great RR.

Congrats to Ryan and Tash for your strong racing this weekend.  glad you guys had as much fun as we did.

How about the 4's and 3's races???

Tanks for the memories.

Terry took these pics at the crit on Saturday...sorry, he only took pics at the 35+ / Cat 4 race, so there aren't any of the other races. If you want any full size ones, let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

As for the Cat 4's...Team Beth rocked the crit, we each won a prime and Beth Newell ended up 3rd. We thought we had decent TT times, but holy crap, there were some ridiculously strong TTer's there in the 4's this weekend. Then the RR went very well for Newell - she finished 5th just behind all the little tiny hill climbers! I ate some questionable eggs for breakfast and coupled with a few other factors, I threw in the towel after 2 laps. Bummer of a way to end the weekend, but I still had a blast being with all the Bellas! I didn't get to see Brittany after the last race, but she was doing great in every single race, too!

And with the TT I think I have done every single kind of bike racing except downhill in the last year and a half here in NorCal.
