Sunday was the Firecracker crit down here in South Florida. It didn't turn out so well for me, I ended up having an asthma attack and DNFed but I thought I would post some pictures. Only 5 women showed up(actually a big number for a local race that isn't a florida points series race here!) so we went with the 55+ men. The first 20 minutes went, except that I didn't follow the very early break. Out of the first corner 2 riders took off and we all thought they would get pulled back, but they never did. Besides that everything went well with me throwing in some attacks and stringing out the field. I also learned i can TURN!! THis was a very technical course with a super tight and curvey S curve and I made all the inside turns and moved up from back to front of the pack multiple times throughout the field(which is where I then threw in the attacks off the front).
Unfortunatly this race is out west and it was windy and whatever was blowing off the trees caused my asthma to flare up(I also have a horrible chest cold,so it could be combined). Oh and my rear wheel wouldn't take air, somehow the valve got closed under the valve extender(weird since I have used it a bunch since the last time I reglued it) so I had to use my training wheel in the back.
