This is an interesting story from Dave at Vanderkitten regarding a female
athlete they are supporting through the sale of their clothing items.

Check it out!

People always ask us, "How does Vanderkitten make a difference?" A
lot of you know we give a lot of our money to support women in so
many aspects of athletics, music, disease and more. In fact, our %
of revenue donated would stifle ROXY and the likes... they would
NEVER do what we do because they are not truly in touch with the
needs of women in society.

We have some new projects on the horizon and need YOUR HELP
sponsoring our cause!!

Didi Lawrence was told she would never be active again. The daughter
of America's most successful ski racer Andrea Mead-Lawrence and
lifetime competitive skier, Didi suffered a new fatal accident when
the horse she was riding had a seizure and fell on top of her,
crushing her pelvis and causing tremendous internal bleeding. She
was riding a horse named 6-Pack, appropriate for the fact she had
just decided to give up a life of drug and alcohol dependency
developed during the pressures and partying of competitive skiing.

When she was told she would never ski again, and possibly never walk
again, she was devastated, but determined. Didi found the strength
to not only recover from her addictions but to learn to be active
again. She could FEEL herself skiing again, FEEL herself being a role
model for others and her long journey had just begun...

In time she would regain the strength to walk again, and decided if
she could walk, she could climb a mountain... and if she could climb
a mountain, she could ski down it!! She set her goal: Ski peaks no
one had ever skied in the most feared mountain range in the world:
The Himalayas.

On her way to crushing the doctor's predictions she competed in the
master's EXTREME SKIING CHAMPIONSHIPS and this fall she nabbed he
cover of SKI Magazine premier issue!! The dot on the exclamation
point lays waiting for you to help punctuate it... and we are here to
show you how easy it is!

Didi contacted me about our company, Vanderkitten, and said she had
heard so many great things about what my wife Jennie and I do,
outside of our brand, as human beings. She told me her story and we
talked for hours, you see, both of us have achieved things we were
blatantly told we could never do. In fact, ALL of us have... you
included.

I was moved to hear Didi's story and offered to help sponsor her trip
to Nepal to ski peaks never skied before by a woman, OR A MAN. Her
trip would be very expensive and Jennie and I certainly could not
afford to fund it alone, but we can with your help!

Here is what we offer:
Every purchase you make on the Vanderkitten webstore puts money into
an account for Didi. These purchases are not tax deductible, but the
overwhelming feeling of joy you will receive will repay 10-fold for
the experience of giving.

Here is How We Do It:
For every T-shirt sold between now and February 15th, we are
contributing $15 to Didi's Cause! That's right, of the $24 you
spend, $15 of it goes to Didi. For every track jacket sold, $20 goes
to Didi and for every cycling jersey, $10 goes to Didi. Socks too,
$3 a pair!!!!

WHY
It is so important for every woman in the world to be able to hear
this story, the conclusion of a dream FAR GREATER than any doctor
would have imagined, a divine journey that goes beyond our human
limits! If the trip never happens, the story is never told.

DONATIONS
We are also accepting donations on Didi's behalf. Again, these are
not tax deductible directly, since we are not a non-profit, but we
can assure you every PENNY given will get to Didi and her trip.

We have over 800 friends on MySpace, and you all have at least 2
friends, but most over 30... that's over 2400 people, and if everyone
were to give $10 we'd be on her way to creating history. WE"RE
MAKING THE DEAL EVEN SWEETER by giving you a chance to get some VK
gear!

The Background
We are making our exclusive background pattern available for everyone
who wants to show support for the Vanderkitten mission. Use this link
in your profile editing and start to enjoy the Delicious
possibilities of your unlimited potential!

I look forward to sending Didi off on this tremendous journey with
all of your help, love and support. This is just the beginning...
hold on tight!
