Hey girls!  I'm going to be in Vegas next week for a conference.  This will be my first time out there.  I'm not sure I'll be able to get any riding in while I'm out there, but I was wondering if there was anywhere off the strip that I should visit while I'm there.  Any suggestions??

Old Town Las Vegas is pretty cool to see at night with the Fremont Street Light show overhead.  http://www.vegasexperience.com/

Shows how much I know!  I didn't realize there was a new and old strip!  :?  Thanks for the info!  I definitely want to check that out!

If you have time to rent a car and take a day trip, I recommend the west rim of the grand canyon (via the Hoover Dam) [,]http://www.destinationgrandcanyon.com/], Red Rock Canyon []http://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/] with mostly casual paved road cycling []http://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/Biking.htm] or the Valley of Fire State Park []http://www.desertusa.com/nvval/] best seen at sunrise or sunset.  There are also some petroglyphs in the Valley of Fire.

Reminded me, I've toured Hoover Dam and that was pretty cool if you're into "dam trips"...  the view walking across it was impressive too.

I think I'm going to have to save the dam/canyon trip for another trip.  I'd love to see it, but I'll be in meetings from 7:30-5:30 every day I'm out there...unless I decide to skip out on one of the days of meetings.  We'll see how feisty I feel when I'm out there.  :D
